Of course we had to visited the original Starbucks! (Previously a Starbucks barista- so it was a MUST!). We also found a Wallaby and Kangaroo ranch which was an absolute GEM! We decided to do a spontaneous day cruise across the ocean to Victoria, Canada. We were lucky enough to spot ORCAS swimming beside the boat. 5 tips for traveling with unpredictable toddlers! 1. Bring something for your kiddo to eat/ drink during takeoff and landing. Pressure changes can cause ear pain and swallowing helps equalize pressure. Hello hard candy! 2. Snack boxes with variety are perfect for hunger and boredom. We use a lot of finger foods that take time to pick up one by one. 3. Toys! We do bring downloaded movies but also toys. Busy books, coloring stuff, playdough, and cereal necklace making are perfect ideas for not taking much space, being compact, and not messy. We sometimes put away toys prior to travel that we’re bringing so it’s like a new and exciting toy for your kiddo. 4. Choose your flight times to align with nap and sleep schedules. Direct flights are better when possible! The hard part is getting on and situated. Once you’re on, don’t make yourself do that again! Sit back and enjoy the flight! 5. Check your airport ahead of time to find the kids area! Airport playgrounds are great for getting the wiggles out before the flight.
